Remove byte-order marks (BOMs) upon file upload
Users have reported that file uploads from Windows have a BOM that causes execution of the file in Octave Online to fail. This can be observed when downloading a script file and then re-uploading it back again.

FAQ and Help
I don't know if you have a blog, website or other options to get help for using octave-online . But if you have something like this I can't find access from the page (or is too hard to find I don't know).
At least a FAQ would be great.
For example: I had some problems for signing in, because I don't see how to create an account however it wasn't needed because you create an account when I asked to sing and you can't find me! that is a good idea but is not straight forward. Just telling is perfect…1 vote -
All the pop-up boxes upon initially loading the page are really annoying
There's the massive welcome pop-up right when you open the page and then there are the additional three "tip" boxes that litter the screen, regardless of whether I've been to the site before or not. I'm constantly reminded about how I can use Octave Online in my class! or that the CLI at the bottom of my screen is the Octave Command Prompt! and that I can run script files if I sign in! Every single time I access the page. It makes it even worse that I've already seen these things, but even for a first time user it's…

about cell and run
It does not implement cell functionality.
It only supports the execution of the entire file and does not implement the execution of the selected block (F9 in matlab) or the execution of the current cell (alt + Enter).It would be better if they worked.

Please remove sine wave animation on loading.
I recently loaded the page and found the new sine wave loading animation visually jarring and disorienting. I recognize that this is really nitpicking here, but it bugged me and may have bugged other people too. So I thought it was worth mentioning.

How do I search and load from directories on my computer?
I tried ls to list directories but this did not seem to work. I presumbe it is possible to load files....If not it would be good to be able to!

Make it so you can customize the colors of the gui
I’d like if you added being able to change the color and font of the gui. Thanks!
1 voteYou can change between two fixed color schemes, light and dark, by clicking the “Change Theme” button in the menu. Is this option sufficient? Can you be more specific about what you would want to customize?
